Yeah, I had been putting it off debating whether I wanted to do it on my own (I did my own TBI harness). The LSx is a lot more complicated, and wiring is probably the single hardest thing to troubleshoot, so I opted to let a pro handle it this time around. I may try to tackle it on the Caprice when I get around to swapping it down the road. The guy I'm having do my harness also offers a "partial" kit with a fuse block setup for an LS swap that you can tie into a factory LSx harness. I may try that out for the Caprice.

That sounds awesome! I can say that wiring is probably my weakest aspect to vehicle builds so I understand :)

Ordered up new tie rod ends, drag links, pitman arm, and a steering dampener. Gonna put them all in when I do the ball joints. Then off to the alignment shop. Don't want to ruin my new tires!

I drove it and geezus even with a complete front rebuild it still wanders all over the damn road.

Looks like it might be a steering box rebuild or replace time.

Any write ups on electric fan swap?
I've seen so many kits on amazon
Is bigger better?
Help

Question:
After a longer drive
50miles or so
Front end seems stiff on initial take off
Almost as though I'm on the brakes a bit
Suggestions?
Thoughts?

We need to get you some help @v2500burb on where to post up questions, and spank the guys ignoring your posts. I see some of the posts you're using TapATalk and I know that makes it harder to navigate the forum. I don't use TapATalk hardly for that reason. But yep, in the correct categories I'm sure there are some electric fan installs.

As far as your stiff front end, that happens to me too when I see a good looking chick in a short skirt and low cut top on. Not sure why, but it just happens and then I end up hitting the brakes which usually work just fine.

But maybe, if I understand the REAL question, are you saying your front brakes are dragging? Could it be overheated brake pads and/or rotors? Maybe post up in the Brakes section and someone will help instead of overlook your post and ignore it. I don't like seeing ignored posts. We don't do that here. We try to help everyone.

I've not done a thing to my squares. But today I'm working on my son's 2001 Hoe. The Park Interlock intermittently hangs up, which he never told me about, until the other night he calls me and tells me his shift lever broke off and now he can't move his truck that's parked at a convenience store nosed in.

I told NO, it just didn't fall off. YOU BROKE the damn thing trying pry it out of Park which isn't going to happen, so now you just make a minor problem and very expensive and PITA problem. I wasn't going to, but after looking it over, it appears I have made a better than new, stronger repair with epoxy and a hose clamp.

So now I'm trying to figure out where the Park Interlock solenoid is since I'm about 99% positive that's where the problem is going to be. The fuse is good and will not cause and intermittent problem and either would the brake pedal switch. It'll either work or won't and with the brake lights working fine, I'm going with a sticky solenoid and want to clean and lube it, or replace it depending on cost and such. I've made a post on gmt800.com, our sister forum, but if anyone of you traitors who have GMT800s and know where the solenoid, please let me know. I've got the shifter issue resolved but want to replace or repair this solenoid before he comes to pick it up. He lives like 30 miles away from me know and I don't want him breaking down or me having to drive 30 miles to rescue him again.

Scored a very nice core support this morning, along with the hood and filler panel below the grill, off of a burb at the pap in front of where I work. Happened to be in the area last night right before they closed, so I did a recon run to see if they had anything new. Glad I did. The burb I grabbed these from hadn't been there very long, so I made sure I was the first one through the door this morning. The fenders looked nice too, but I could feel the rust beginning to swell the seem where the inner bracing meets the outer skin at the top of the wheel arch.
