ping someone would just sell me their rubber. :party36:

Alright, I'll add that to the "soon" list. Going to order some relatively solid gas tank brackets and have them blasted/painted by my uncle.

I'll be installing the same kit on my 87 tonight. My old one was all loosy goosy too like the previous owner wasn't aware that he needed to press the button to rotate and got the spring out of whack. :whymewhyme:

Will do. The instructions seem simple enough but I can see that retainer pin giving me fits cuz of my sausage fingers LOL

Ordered the lowering parts for the front and shocks for all four corners for the '87. Now just need the parts for the rear, tires, and some maintenance items and I'll be ready to get the '87 lower to the earth :)

I'd just get that whole kit

Was hoping someone would just sell me their rubber. :party36:

I'd have to agree. Get the whole kit and be done. The springs, wave springs and metal wears also. If you going through all the motions anyway, may as well make it like brand new and it be good for another 30 years.

Exactly this :)

Got my vent window latch installed last night with the help of some great GMSB members :) Had a hard time getting that silly pin back in that holds the chrome handle on. Overall it's a very simple job but you do need to take your time and be patient.

FYI, You don"t need to drive the lil' pin all the way out. That way you don't loose it and don't have trouble getting it started back in.

That's true but if you use the kit and want to use all the new parts including the new chrome handle you'll have to start the new pin in that :)

LOL, probably was time for new rubber, eh?

Finally got off my ass and got WD-40 to loosen up the hood hinge. Worked like a charm, actually pops open now.

Also grabbed the wire brush and cleaned up the frame where the second tank has yet to be installed (brackets coming today, then blast/paint, then install). Knocked a few brackets off from some wiring, but truth be told, they probably weren't doing anything anyhow since they came off from a light bump. Frame cleaned up well and the peeling paint revealed....surface rust! Frame's in decent shape over there. That's a good thing. lol

Lol, there was no hitting, it released, but needed to be pried open with your right hand and manually released behind the grill with the left. PITA

I HAVE BRAKES

:party36:

New brake booster, new master cylinder, new proportioning valve, 2 new wheel cylinders, 4 new soft lines, 2 new rear hard lines and a **** ton of bleeding.

Although now I have to adjust the rears because well they lock up WAY to fast and cause the ass end to slide.

It honestly feels weird having this truck stop so quickly that I almost eat the steering wheel every time now. I have a few small leaks I need to work out. One is at the master cylinder and I think its just a crappy fitting working with a new master cylinder. Another leak is hard line to soft line at the rear but I think its a ****** flare.
