Thanks, I built the box and kept procrastinating about going to the fabric store for some material to cover it when I remembered the parts suburban has a huge amount of material the same color as my interior on the headliner. That old suburban just keeps on giving. I've stripped about everything you could think of off of it and have almost hauled it to the scrap heap a couple of times but I keep on finding **** I need to pull off of it.

I keep going to pick n pull.. I think i have every switch and light fixture from these old trucks X10.. I keep em all in a rubber maid container.. I refuse the let the little stuff go to the crusher.. I wish i could save more of the bigger parts but the money is not there to do it.

This morning i crawled under the truck to change my shocks only to see there is a dent in my drive shaft.. Maybe i didn't need the new ujoints i bought.. Now i find out it's close to 500 bucks to re tube a drive shaft. HOLY CRAP on a cracker.. I never did change the shocks.. took out the shaft and made a few calls.. Ended up going to work for 8 hours.

The correct term for what he is referring to is the Idle Air Controller.

Thank you
Someone said you can clean it
What would you use to clean it?
Or should it just be replaced?

I finally was able to replace the driver's side front rubber brake hose.
Now it's break time to recover from fighting with it before I decide to tackle the other side.
I'm replacing calipers, pads and a really badly grooved rotor, so now is the time to replace those old frayed hoses.
I replaced the tiny 1/4" vacuum fitting the kid had going to the power brakes with the correct 3/8" line plumbed in to the back of the Q-jet.
Maybe after I'm done I will have good working power brakes I can depend on.
It was all I could do before to press the pedal to stop the truck, the pedal was hard as a rock and didn't have power assist.
