Interior project complete! New dashpad (Dashes Direct via LMC) new dash speaker, new radio, new heater/AC control unit, new instrument bezel, new cigarette lighter (NOS made in USA Casco via eBay) and repaired the shift position indicator so that works again. Cigarette lighter works now too, although I don’t smoke and it will likely never be used. Watching the lighter pop out glowing red brings back memories of driving with my dad as a child. Dad smoked for many years but still lived into his 90’s.

Everything went together without any major problems. New Dashes Direct dash needed quite a bit more trimming than the Cheyenne Pickup dash I bought for my 87, which dropped right in with no trimming. That PITA upper left corner of the instrument bezel is still bothersome.

Looks nice!
Hey do you know if that carpet is orange or brown?
My 77 has the same interior as yours.
Needs carpet. Both colors were an option for this paint and int colors.
I can’t tell.

Just the eBay one. I used a bandsaw and took 1/4” off of the standoffs for better engagement of the gears. The “upgrade” was really adding more turns to the spring on install.
Any chance you have a thread or link on how to modify exactly?

Iirc, you definitely don't have the orange. The orange interior was pretty damn uncommon. I'll see if I can steal, I mean "find" a picture from Google.

You’re correct, although looked like orange carpet was an option with my truck (lookin at the options in the Vehicle Info Kit).
And my carpet just like that Blazer looks too orange to be brown or possibly too brown to be orange.
Everything in the cab is 100% original (except the floor mats).

Yeah it’s definitely brown looking at the pic you found. That orange interior looks sweet though!
Thanks for finding that.

I read it somewhere. If I can’t find it again, I’ll draw up something. Maybe open up the tailgate and snap a pic or two.
Appreciated! Can you do the same modifications to the side windows for the same effect?
