Mechanic texted saying the 84 caprice starter worked and was way cheaper. Now I'm really mad at myself for missing that post because I would have tried it. Oh well, he's fixing a couple other things too fir me. Lol

I forgot all about you having rallies on it at one point. I'm normally a rally kinda guy, but I really do like the current stance and wheel combo the best of all three.

changed the oil after break in period. Fired it up to turn the wheels to look at the drag link. Then I noticed the oil pressure was about 28 instead of 45. Gave it a few seconds, then jumped out to look to make sure I could get to the drag link.

thats when I saw a 3'x3' pool of oil. As I was running back to shut it off, I started hearing a little "zing". Hope I didn't fry the bearings.

Turns out the gasket on the first oil filter had stuck to the block and I didn't catch it while changing it. Double stack is gonna leak.

From now on....run it for 5 seconds, then shut it off and look for major leaks....along with the other captain obvious 2 checks while installing the filter. This has never happened to me in my life. Just glad I didn't rev it up to bring the pressure up while running.

we'll see. Hopefully I'm only out oil and a filter. If not, it's gonna come to a point where I tell my wife I don't wanna hear it....leave me alone until I'm done lol.

I seriously don't know how a person could miss a filter gasket still on the block. I always wipe the block clean before I screw on a new filter. Stevie Wonder wouldn't even do that...

I did it one time as a kid. Have never done it again. You'll never do it again too:rotflmao: I didn't ruin the engine, it got caught soon enough and was sealed just well enough to not melt it down.

All jokes aside, I'm sure she'll be fine! If it still had oil pressure I wouldn't worry. It might sound pissed off starting, but I doubt it.

I'll bet it's just fine. Even if it pumped all 5-6 quarts out, there would have only been just a couple seconds at the end with no oil pressure.

I was about to say the same thing…. Can never go wrong with rally wheels but his current setup is appealing

I posted in my build thread but decided to share here too

Built and installed my A/C and heater lines this weekend. I was stumped trying to get everything to route and lay down neatly until I stumbled on an oddly bent piece of hardline left from one of dad’s projects. It was the perfect addition to make everything fit just right. (It’s the one on the low pressure side of the compressor)
