Installed 95% of the exhaust, beefed up the helper spring stops and slapped the bed, bumper and tailgate on. After all of the work we've put into this thing this spring/summer/fall, it's turning out just how we'd hope. If not better.

Few weeks ago I replaced the speedometer cable and slowly been getting a squeaky/wailing again thought maybe it's a u joint but the speedometer needle is bouncing around went on a drive with it capped off and Shure enough it's gone it's so loud makes the truck sound like a POS I lubed the cable before installing I'll have to pull the cable see whats going on hope everyone is having a good Sunday afternoon

Well I finally finished the motor mounts! That's passenger side is the worst you have to have a helper. Replaced fuel pump hose and the power steering return hose. The mounts were original and obviously shot. Now I can pull it inside to do the oil pan, rear main seal and possibly a timing chain. After that and the leaks stopped then maybe a trans service.

Drove it home last night! It's just on a basic start-up tune so nothing over 3k but I can already tell she wants to run. It already feels stronger than the old setup

Mocked up my exhaust on Saturday, it's at the exhaust shop right now. Told 'em to mount the mufflers behind the axle and turn them out to the sides for the tips. Curious to see what they come up with

Lets see,

Got all 4 shocks replaced.
Got a guy to come out and remove vats from the LS ecu and figured out a few things I messed up on (reversed the fuel lines on the stock truck fuel pressure regulator) and had to wire up a neutral safety switch. I have one coolant leak and one oil leak to get sorted out. Coolant leak can probably be solved with a hose clamp in place of the old spring clamp. The oil leak I thought I had found but its leaking at the oil cooler blockoff from ICT that I used to add the C10 oil pressure sender. Probably get some rtv on it and fix that, so minor issues.

On Sunday I spent the day making the first segment of exhaust and getting some O2 sensors installed. The rest of the exhaust shouldn't be to bad, I know famous last words.

I have a hard engine surge once you hit around 1200 rpm. I'm thinking I got scammed with a knockoff fuel pump and its just not supplying the volume or pressure. I am borrowing a fuel pressure gauge this afternoon to see if I can narrow it down a little.

Update on the noises from this old truck squeak is gone and the wailing continues confirmed it's coming from the rear driveline did something sketchy and crawled up under the truck on jackstands looks like some u joints and carrier bearing is next thing I need to handle

Recently replaced the dash pad on mine. Being a former Fire Truck, the dash was full of holes where radios andvarious devices had been installed. Nice to have that done, cause that's what you see constantly see when you're out driving around. Much better now.

Got the koolrest cleaned good enough, has a couple of blemishes. Decided it was wayyy too big to not be inconvenient for my daily driver burban. So I threw it in the 79. Definitely want the smaller version, this one is large! Glad I didn't pay eBay price! Colors aren't quite right but I won't complain!

What steering wheel is that? Looks like a bit older than the rest of the interior....but it looks good!

That wheel needs a horn ring... and 3 note horns to match! Looks like a period correct medium duty truck wheel.

Took the bed off and got my final coat of high build primer on the front just have to glaze over some rivets I knocked down that you could see with the bed off. Got the jambs sprayed with some epoxy primer hopefully will keep it from rusting longer. Now just gotta wait till it dries then it's my last time blocking the front half before I cut my doors and jambs in with color. Then I can finally get some color flowing on the front. I have massive respect for guys that do body work, it's one of the most time consuming, frustrating, yet rewarding things I've done. One step closer folks
