Imho, LS has nothing to do with it. I don’t care what V8 it is, if overdrive is involved, don’t fear the gear!
Agreed! I was mainly just referring to the fact that LS's make their power a little higher in the rev range compared to a small block

Yeah, I wasn't suggesting you were incorrect at all. Just adding to the statement :)

yeah this one is a manual, MY6\A833 I knew 4th gear (overdrive) had NO power. Now I see why. With the 305 I swear it was 40-45mph in first. Hit second till about 50 and hit third at 60-65. If you bumped it down into 4th you had do downshift with any incline whatsoever (and this is Florida so flat flat). With the LS I'm hoping it carries a little more power in 4th but I know I am going to have to regear at some point.
4.10 would be awesome...

Dang! Turn signals stopped the flashy thing. Dash indicator, both sides comes on with no flash. Emergency flashers working fine. . Reached under the dash, swapped the two flashers, and the problem moved to the E Flashers. Ahah. Fixed and order one more (at least) flasher. Note; I do have rear LED bulbs in only the 1157 Sockets.

Trucks been running great the last few weeks once I got my AFR gauge installed and tuned the carb. Filled up my tank yesterday and this morning I came around the corner on my way to work and the engine just shut off :banghead:

Pulled it off into a parking lot and messed with it a bit and it tried to start a bit and then died again... last time it did this my Carter fuel pump had snapped the end off inside the pump body...

Had my wife give me a ride to work and I'll take her suburban back over to the parking lot this evening to do some basic troubleshooting and hopefully get it back up and running. Most likely either the fuel pump or ignition module just gave up. I've got some known good spare modules and coils and the pump is still under warranty, so if it crapped out I can always just swap it out real quick for a free replacement at autozone. We'll see, but at least this didn't happen in the middle of nowhere, at night, on my way to/from stalking some elk.
What AFR gauge do you use? I’m in the market. There’s loads of them out there. I don’t have any recommendations yet. And do you rely on one bank for an average, or do you have a gauge that has a sensor for each bank? Thanks in advance.

I have an Innovate LC-2 and have it wired to a cheap gauge for now in the square. Longterm idea is to have it wired to the pro+ harness for my HPtuners MPVI3 dongle. I have it on a 5-wire connector so I can move it around between the different vehicles.

Tidied up more stuff under hood, installed heater and radiator hoses, a few more wires tidied. Then went under the truck to install the driveshaft and run more wires.

Then ran into what could’ve been a very big problem. One of the clutch lines pulled apart as I was trying to install everything. This was the line from the slave under the dash to the bulkhead going through the floor. It was too short. Thankfully, I ordered more than one line when ordering clutch lines, this one is way too long but at least it won’t pull apart.

Yet to finish the paint, but got the hood on to free up some space in the garage. Trying to decide if I want to mount the hood ornament- this hood is off a work truck so it didn’t have holes drilled. I almost like the clean look without it.

Just bought new wheels from speedway- Blems. for $68 each. 15x8 rally wheels, silver. Bargain! Free shipping. They said they were mounted and dismounted. So I bought $800 worth of tires to mount on them. So much for bargain. Should help this winter. Pictures next week after all the swapping...

Shot epoxy on my body work/bare metal today next up is some high build primer. I'm probably doing this completely wrong but I drive it so I'm looking for the old can it look good from across the home depot parking lot or riding by 35mph.

This is the closest its looked to one color since the 6+ years I've had it so progress is being made
