Cleaned up the side post on positive battery cable. Stripped back new wire greased it up and put back on.

I hate side posts. When this battery goes out I'm buying a top post battery and new cables. The screws aren't long enough and can strip easy. Does anyone know where I could get some lower ones? Where more threads screw into the battery.

be careful with the screws. They are made to strip out so you don't pull the insert out of the battery. A local battery distributor told me that I was over tightening them. They gave me different screws but said don't get carried away.

Even though the C30 is engineless and waiting for the new blue print to get here, I pulled the front tire that had a slow leak. The screwdown type metal air valve had a worn out grommet. Picked up a new one and changed it out with a bead breaker I made to change tires on my Honda Big Red. Worked pretty well.

I ran it across the scale at the elevator one night recently and weighed it. '82 K30, big block, th400, 33" tires, and a full tank of gas with me in it. 5,640 lbs.

Yeah I always used a bolt and ran it in until it bottomed out and a nut to hold the clam on. Pretty sturdy. I do prefer the posts though.

Back on the ground and out for a quick cruise in the neighborhood before the alignment. The clearance on the control arms is now good, seeking out some 73-80 fender wells now. Good to see her out of the garage for my 50th birthday today.

Man I really like your truck! It's my favorite color, shortbed, bed rails with rallies and white letters tires. You can't fcking beat that imo.
