Yeah- I’m sure it’s time. Question is where to get them from- shipping is almost as much as one pack of springs. Summit will ship free but it takes two weeks to get them per the website.
I am fortunate to have a shop here locally that carries them. At least they did when I swapped in the Old Man Emu suspension on my 91 Cherokee.

OME stuff is awesome. I sold my ‘99 Cherokee before I got a chance to do that.

I’m still waiting to hear anything but it’ll be worth the wait- it’ll be $280 or so with shipping included. Summit order them directly from Dorman. O’Reillys and Auto Zone don’t give an option to order and Napa would’ve been well close to $450 without tax.

A coworker told me about OME, he had a 92 Cherokee, he said it rode so nice. My stock suspension was so saggy that it looked like a low rider 4x4. It rode okay, just okay. When I installed the OME kit, what a difference, it was smooth with a 2 inch above stock lift, for mine it was nearly 4, but it rides like stock due to the stock spring rates. Those Aussie's did that kit right for sure.

WOW! $280 including shipping. Inflation big time! That NAPA price is way too high. Summit sure is good about fast shipping, I ordered a transmission dipstick yesterday after lunch and it is out for delivery now. I just hope it's long enough that I don't have to crawl into the engine compartment to check the fluid level.

If you got a drill and a big vise or press it aint too bad.
Drill the snot out of the rubber and even the crusty-est bushings are pretty easy to knock out.
When I did mine, this did not work for me. No matter how much I drilled, I couldn't get them out. I finally just took everything out in the yard and hit the center pin with a MAPP torch until they melted out. Once the pin is out, the rubber piece comes right out. Once the rubber is out, it is quick and easy to get the metal outer piece to tap out. I wasted a ton of time trying to drill and had everything out in about 20 minutes once I switched to the torch.

I used a set of kevlar bushings from ORD along with the greasable bolts all the way around.

That's insane for some stock style dorman junk. It's only $99 for the ORD Kevlar bushings with greasable bolts so that you don't have to hear them squeak and have the bolts rust to the sleeve.

They have them in stock too, so you would likely have them by next week.

Oh, that’s my miscommunication. It was for the whole leaf spring setup, two sides. You’d think English was my second language.

That makes more sense.

Have you though about just getting a new set locally? You have Gittspring right there in Auburn. They can do stock replacement or custom springs... probably for a similar or better price than the dorman units.

Ordered over $1000 of parts after checking compression which seemed good - 150-165 across all cylinders.

Got new street 625 demon carb, HEI dist, harmonic balancer, intake manifold, vacuum tubing, filters, spark plugs, and other odd parts like oil dipstick which for some reason was cut on mine.

Cant wait to get it running like new!

That I certainly won't! The guy built her like this back in'83/'84 with a kit...it's staying a kit. I haven't seen one like it, and I like it's unique!

You have a good point there! I wish I could just attach a video rather than load to YouTube to post. Wonder if I can post to YouTube from my cell...?? I'll try.
