@Grit dog if that trim comes up again, try this tape. It's sticky AF! I'm not even kidding about this. I'm really impressed with the holding power. I don't think water will bother it either.

Thanks for the recommendation! I got some 3M extreme or something tape.
It seems much better than the also 3M labeled tape that came on them.

.Put a battery on the charger to put some fire in the holes of My square,, Takes two batterys to spin that little diesel over but in fires up bout the 3-4 spin.

Seems very well made - CR Lawrence I have always heard was the better of the lot. After about 5 vendors telling me this was discontinued and another 3 charging almost double for 'old stock' they still had, I called CR Lawrence directly. They said there had been a lapse in inventory but they had 2 large batches coming in over the next 10-14 days. I asked them if I could buy from them (yes but only in mass quantities) - then where could I get them. They told me to go here: https://www.dkhardware.com/

These guys are also on ebay, for the same base price, but if I added the seal, ebay would not allow combined shipping (they get fees off that too), and for whatever reason, the tax rate was higher (they're infamous for that too). So I went directly to the vendor's site - not only was the shipping cheaper (and combined), but the tax was lower and if you're a new customer, you can sign up for 5% off your initial order. Was about a $45 difference and I didn't support feebay. They ship out of Miami, fwiw.

Getting the truck ready for the trip tomorrow. Will be about 200 miles in total, to get feed for the farm. I think I've got the ESC worked and the timing dialed in. Discovered the enrichment circuit for the Edelbrock carb was just a little lean, and contributed to the pinging issues, so one step richer on the metering rods. Will be interesting to see how she does on the highway both empty and loaded with a ton of feed. She sure drove nice and strong yesterday that's for sure!

So a good clean up was in order. Cleaned up the interior, I'm going to spend the better part of the day inside the truck tomorrow.

Washed and "waxed", I put waxed in quotes, because I like to use Meguires paste wax which isn't really a wax it's a polymer. I don't think it's quite as shinny as real wax, but it lasts much longer which I really like.

Almost due for an oil change so went ahead and did it before the trip. Lubed all the zerks as well.

And that's what I've been running. Some of you maybe skeptical of my choice of oil, and that's fine I'm not looking to debate oil choices but it tests well and has a little higher zinc than normal motor oil, plus it's cheap. I can get it for $28 for 2 1/2 gallon jug, it's very universal and I can pour it in anything from my tractor to my square. And of course a WIX oil filter.

All ready to head out tomorrow morning. The only question left is who will be my ride along? My wife or my dog.

It's a switch for the converter clutch. My truck 84 C20, 305 - 700R4. Back when I bought the truck the converter would only lockup in 4th - overdrive, as the vacuum controls for 3rd gear lockup were inop. So when I'd haul a load or tow my trailer and wanted to run in drive - 3rd the converter would not lock. Then I bought a tractor and needed to trailer it home over the pass. So I wired up a switch so I could manually lock the converter in 3rd, to help keep trans temps down. I've got a gauge and big cooler to, but we have big hills and passes around here. So later on I fixed the automatic controls for 3rd gear converter clutch operation, which I leave it operate on normal day to day driving basis, but I really like having the control over the converter clutch when I'm towing or hauling a heavy load. So basically it's an override switch now when the transmission is in 3rd gear and the switch is turned on it holds the converter locked up unless I turn the switch off or step on the brakes.

So as you can see it's super close by and easy to switch on or turn off at a moments notice. Way quicker than if I had to fumble around for a toggle switch somewhere on the dash.

Long ride for the dog, take some dog biscuits too.
She's done it with me before, but this time I had the wife. She (the dog) LOVES riding in the truck, I mean she enjoys the Jeep too, but in the truck she can lay down on the seat and anytime she wants to look out the front windshield, she just has to put her head up. I hit up a rest stop on the way up and down and Bayview state park, there she gets a nice walk and a little play time on the beach. Of course treats are must!

Nothing with my truck but I did finally get the middle of the barn cleaned up so I can get back to painting now that the weather may cooperate and the bugs are at a minimum! No pictures today maybe tomorrow!
