Picked up the newest member of the squarebody family today. 1987, custom deluxe K20 (V20), TBI 350, sm465, nice ranch bed, a free set of 8 lug rims, and a bunch of new parts in the cab. Not even the tiniest spec of rust anywhere. $800.

Runs and drives, but the power signal to the injectors cuts out randomly, so I'll probably swap in a carburetor instead.
I also have sitting at my house, a set of nice doors, nice fenders, a nice hood, a new grill, and new rims and tires that I'm going to probably throw on there to clean it up a bit.

Might just need an ignition module. They can take out injector pulse when they are failing.

You mean there little module in the back of the distributor? I changed that out on this truck already.
I replaced the fuel pump, fuel filter, fuel pressure regulator, fuel pressure sensor, fuel pump relay, ignition module, and replaced the injectors with a set out of a running TBI. No luck.
Sometimes itll start up and run great for a little while, then without warning, itll just die. And I've watched the injectors when it happens. One minute they're spraying, then they stop, then the engine dies. If you bottle feed it, itll stay running.

After all that, my boss just gave up on it, so that's why I bought it. I know I can just throw a carb intake and a mechanical pump on and solve the issue. But if you have any insight to fix the TBI, please do..

Yep, sounds like it's troublesome, lol. Do you have another ECM to swap in for a trial?

No, sadly I dont.
Have a ECM out of an 84 Corvette for a crap-fire injectors, haha.

I figured that had to be the last option, cant think of anything else.

I had to put a new Delco ignition module in my truck the other day.
Been drivin cars and trucks with HEIs for 45 years, and this was the first one to give up the ghost.
Someone before me had put in an Accel module in it.

Got a lot of parts delivered today. Installed the new tail light assemblies, mirrors, tstat, and tstat housing. The gauge lens showed up broken and the air filter showed up crushed. Cleaned and painted the air filter housing.

Any seasoned vet have any helpful hints on reinstall of window regulator and motor...

Original seat coming out for new foam and vinyl. 42 years of wear and one crappy cover. Anybody want the Carhardt cover?

I would verify powers and grounds. I would have a test light on the tank pump to verify it's powered when it's cutting out. Then the distributor. Clean and check all the grounds are attached, to the core support and the frame along with the back of the head. Do a shake test to the harness while it's running. I have been wrong dozens of times in the past but generally if it was an ECU, it works or it doesn't.

Glued down the floor liner and set the mat down. I won't make the mat permanent yet.Temporarily installed the rear speakers.
