In my ongoing quest for perfection from the TBI 350 I decided to change the Knock Sensor. Just being honest, I didn't even know my engine had a knock sensor until a few days ago. I have been digging through this forum researching and reading and studying and while reading some stuff by
@Vbb199 I learned about the knock sensor. So that gave me another lead to follow.
Stopped on my way home from work at O'Reilly's, spent $40 including tax and bought myself the biggest HorsePower Boost I have yet done to the Beige Unit. When I fired it up I saw my son's face change... Before I could accelerate slowly and gently into the upper RPM range but if I stepped into it aggressively the exhaust note would go flat, the power would fall off and I would basically make a bunch of noise with hardly any increase in speed. Now I feel like I am getting most of the advertised power from this old 350. I don't care if it is only rated for 210 HP, I just want it to give me what it is supposed to give.
I am pretty certain this was the original part:
