IT LIVES!!!

Got the 350 running today. Sounds great, I'm super happy. Got the timing set and tuned the carb a little as best I could.

Made my own homemade redneck run stand. Got the radiator hooked up and the swamp cooler in front of it to keep it cooler.

Also cleaned the cab of the truck, to inspire me more. Make it feel like its coming to life again. Sat so long it was getting used as storage.

Oil control issues fixed, and couple good hauls in with some road miles involved, and one load picked up at a VERY muddy location. So I cleaned up the interior on again on Sunday. I can't really call it a detail, but floor mats got cleaned, vinyl and rubber treated ect.

@AyWoSch Motors I like you seat cover, my current one is tan but when this one gets worn out I'll go back to brown.

Below: interior cleaned up.

So last night I ran it though the car wash. Sometimes I'll do a hand wash on the farm, but the time savings of an automatic car wash that actually does a good job is worth while. Plus there is a car wash not to far from the shop that will do a wash and not spray any kind of coating on afterwards, which is my preference. I end up being up much earlier that needed this morning so I did a "wax" I say it like that because it's really a polymer paste "wax". To me it's almost as glossy as wax, but the thing I really like is it lasts a lot longer, and stays on when I hit the automatic car wash.

Then just as I'm finishing taking pictures it starts to rain. That's ok, I love seeing water bead up and roll off. IDK what it is, maybe it's just because of the huge hoods these trucks have.

I didn't get to the engine compartment this morning, but it's still looking ok from the last wipe down. Maybe this afternoon if I get the chance.

Rough stuff- tweaked the cruise adjustment under the hood as it seems to have a droop in speed when it engages. Take the vacuum line closest to the fender off the cruise, loosen the locknut closest to the cruise body, and turn the air control valve out. Book says one quarter turn equals one MPH.

Tighten the lock nut and test at 50 MPH as per the book - repeat as needed. 1/4 turn in reduces the speed by 1 MPH.

Also hooked the DS side squirter up properly.

The hanger that has the hook parallel to the front of the hood was not engaged to the squirter so the squirter could move around.

No more !

Been working on honey-do projects like painting our shed and building a new chicken coop so Old School has been on hold. Sorry for the nasty floor but we had one of our famous Florida rains last night. UPS man brought new patch panels for the inner outer rocker panels from JL Fabrication in VA. BTW, I have the 4.1L six available if anyone needs it, running when I took it out.

I improved on my run stand a bit today. Installed an old stock header y pipe that I had lying around, and put on a big diesel firetruck muffler and a glasspack that I had. Should make it nice and quiet so I can make sure theres no funky sounds going on inside, before I install it.

Also installed a temp gauge so I can make sure it stays cool.

Does buying one count as doing something to my Squarebody? I just got this 85 for 2k. It needs a motor, and some TLC. I'm thinking about pulling the 383 Stroker out of the 2WD Blazer and putting it in this. Or building the Big Block...Just got it haven't made any decisions yet. Cleaning it up is my first task.
