What fluid stains do your daily drivers leave?

I'm adding about 2-3 quarts a week, and that's just going 18 miles to work. If I actually go across town, or drive any larger distances, I might go though several in a day.

I'm going to borrow a hoist, and replace that rear main seal soon (it's just getting ridiculous).

Anyways, I want to know what sort of stains do your guy's daily drivers leave?

Pretty much down to 20W50 now - drips down off the front axle - and sometimes antifreeze if I go crazy filling the overflow bottle.

Transmission is tight after the rebuild, mainly to reseal it. After 40 years, things start failing.

On my truck, too ...

I leave an outline of an engine wherever I park. Plus a puddle of power steering fluid below the brake booster. I use about a quart every 2 weeks and fill the ps pump every week. It's starting to whine now. As soon as I can sell some of the stuff I got recently it's getting a gasket kit and cam kit.

My stuff is most always parked on dirt, grass or gravel. I don't see what leaks, lol. It just disappears over time.

My rear main is leaking the same way. It use to always seep but it's pretty bad now. Not as bad as yours but will leave some good stains and wts everything. I have the rear main and pan gasket. Sometime this winter I'm going to drop the pan and do the rear main.
When it's at the full mark it leaks way worse but between the add and about half way to full it's not as bad. A quart every hundred or so miles

What happened to the yellow truck? Is that it repainted?

I'm not dailying the Burb these days, but my GMC 2500 I've been farting around in (while the real daily sits patiently in the garage waiting for me to fix it) pretty much only leaks a little PS fluid and rarely produces a single drip, the massive EVAP leak makes it reek like gasoline all the time but it doesn't drip any. And I leave little pieces of serpentine belt wherever I go. One of my pulleys is out of alignment (I'll fix it someday before never) I've given up on changing them, I just wait for them to break then I slap a new one on. Man I ******* hate serp belts. The actually daily was leaving oil stains wherever I went, but not from the engine, it was heavily spewing out of the tailpipes (turbo seals). This is the first time I really have a fleet of vehicles that don't leave an outline of the entire car wherever I park, I feel so grown up lol


What happened to the yellow truck? Is that it repainted?
yeah he posted about it not long ago. Came out pretty good IMO

NONE! I keep all aspects of the drive train in good repair and don't procrastinate when something does develop a problem, it gets fixed. I discovered early on that engine oil is much more efficient as a lubricant if it remains inside the engine. this applies to all other fluids as well!:cheers:

I have to keep an eagle eye on my vehicles because they get parked in customer’s driveways. One of the neighborhoods I work in has a maintenance crew that periodically looks under your vehicle when parked along the road. I guess they charge you for cleaning it if it drips...not sure. I just saw on of them looking under the square back in the day and asked what they doing.

Daily driver - none. Which is not a surprise since it is a 2015 with 85k miles. My wife's daily is a 2013 with 159k and doesn't have any leaks either.

The square only has one and it's the oil drain bolt. I can live with it until next oil change and put a new one in.
