What does Rough Country Recomend

I was wondering what tire sizes and wheel offset RC recommends for a 4" and 6'' lift

but i dont want to involve a sawzaw on my truck, if it were a wood/mud truck maybe. but nor on my fancy truck

A lot is based on opinion. Are you willing to trim at all? Do you still want decent ride quality? Do you prefer wide wheels/tires or a little more narrow? Do you like the big lift look or the stuffed tire look?

i like stuffed tires and i would perfer to not trim

That makes it a little more difficult.

With a basic 4 inch lift that is not very soft, a 35x12.5 on an 8 inch wide rim should fit with no or very little trimming. But if the springs are flexy at all and the rims are 10 inches wide, you may want to stick with 33's.

ok thats what i thought i may do a 5" lift front/ 4" lift rear and 35s, that should clear right?

It should with an 8 inch wide rim.

this is what bds recomends so you think this will fit? 35" x 12.50" w/15 x 8 and 3-1/2" back spacing

Have you called rough country to ask them? You can download installation instructions from there site an in them it lists recommended tire sizes. At least it did in the kit for my 98...

Like I said, it depends on the springs. That setup will require at least a little trimming on the front fenders. Rough Country springs are a little more firm and trimming might not be required.

I know when I looked it for my ride the back spacing should be 4.5, other wise you will rub on the turns.

With the 4" you can run 35" tires street and 33" for off road.

With the 6" you can run 37" street and 35" off road.

So if you are running it as a mall crawler then 35" will be fine for this application and you will get your studied look.

Also the springs do make a difference and you will want to go with a 35x12.50 R 15 on a 10" wide rim so you can have some wiggle room in your fender wells.

If you run a 12.50 tire on an 8" wide rim you will end up wearing out the center of your tread too early because it will bubble your tire too much. Now you can get away with it if you run the tires at a lower pressure but I wouldn't recommend this. It also can cause issues with your side walls as they will be bowing in towards the rim more than the tire was designed to do.
