Been trying to figure this out, my Bride and I bought our 75 K20 new in June of 75. We don't have any of the paper work on and we ordered it. Took about 5 weeks and the MFG retail was somewhere around $6800 and my dealer cost was $5700?????? . Don't really remember.....our son was born a week after we took delivery(see what I did there). Things were a bit hectic at the time!!!!! Currently sitting in the shop yard across the alley, patiently waiting for me to get off my a$$ and change out the 350 engine.........it's a-7, lost number 7 cylinder. Right now it has 165000 on the clock.
Im 100% jealous!!Bought my Squarebody brand new in 1977. Paid $8400 out the door. Still have it. Best car I have ever ownedYou must be registered for see images attach
That is a rare bird there! I know the 5.7 was an option in '81, but this is the first one I have ever seen. Super cool that you fixed up your Grandpa's pickup. What gear ratio is in that? Most had 2.73 or 3.08's, but 3.42's were an option. My dad had a '79 5.7 with 3.42's and he really liked it. He did say that the 5.7's didn't like to lug and that gearing them down helped them. I've often wondered how 4.11's with a 700R4 would be with that engine...You must be registered for see images attach
Bought this from my grandpas estate for $100. He hadn’t driven it for 10+ years. I did a ton of work to it, rebuilt the front end, dress up pieces, ralleys etc.

Grandpa bought it from the original owner in 2001. So I’m the third owner of it. 350/350 diesel. Getting ready to overhaul the engine and keep this freak on the road for another 42 years.
Very nice. What kind of mpg do you get out of that Olds diesel? You must be registered for see images attach

The Oldsmobile diesel is hated by many, but also has a cult following. Like anything else, they can be polished and refined into something pretty nice if someone is committed enough. That is a rare bird there! Lately been getting about 18-20 if I keep my foot out of it. Hoping the rebuild I am doing this spring will bump those numbers up a bitVery nice. What kind of mpg do you get out of that Olds diesel?
Not sure I’ll have to look at the sales codes… it likes to cruise at 60 mph so it can’t be a very high final ratio. That is a rare bird there! He did not ask to buy my truck, just wanted to know what I'd pay for it, but you never know!I was going to ask him about doing my trans, now I'm not so sure. He might try to buy it! lol
It’s funny my other project is a Chevy II also.@bucket I was working at the Chev-Cad dealership on the lube rack and the front end alignment pit when we bought this. Funny thing when it came in, there were 2 almost identical 75 K20 Gray/ Silver...whatever ..color pickups on the convoy. Mine and A guy I knew named John, brother of an old classmate. Mine was/is a 350/350/203/4.10 ff. His was a 400/400/203/4.10ff. At about 70000 I BBCed it with a 427. That didn't pan out and 350ed it at 80000. Now going back to original 350, .030 over, that has about 10000 miles on it. I had built it and put in my Chevy II and my Daughter drove it in her Sophomore, Junior and part of her Senior years in high school. Ought to be a good engine for the rest of my years. Probably only 500/750 miles a year use
