What are these parts called, and where can I find them?

Those columns are definitely tricky for sure. My column isn’t a tilt so it was pretty simple to rebuild. Keep at it, persistence pays off

Yeah they're stupid expensive but that's how frustrated I was. Still not done, btw. I'm only finding 20 minutes here and there between work and the kids to get it done. I'm hoping to get it mounted back in the truck and start on the Borgeson shaft this weekend

Another quick update. Finally have the column put back together. Everything I could find a replacement part for has been replaced with exception of ignition cylinder, because that was pretty much already new. Brand new "factory" steering wheel and button from LMC will be installed after I get the column mounted again.

I've never had to take something apart and put it back together so many times. I'm glad I'm done with it

Okay I've gotta ask,as a tech I have replaced at least,seriously at least 10 sloppy ujoint steering shafts to every 1 rag joint I've ever replaced. What is the big attraction to the ujoint shaft? I've used ujoint shafts in Mud trucks,but just because it was the easiest solution to the relocated everything.

I'll let you know after I drive it with the u-joint installed. But from what I've read, the steering will be a lot tighter. Mine was pretty sloppy because of that old ass rag joint. I needed to replace it regardless, and didnt want to go back in with a rag joint

Got the shaft cut down to length and painted up today. Hopefully will have it installed, and the column all tightened back up, by end of week.

New shaft installed. I broke the horn button stubout thing on the cancelling cam when I was putting the new wheel in place, so I'll have to buy a new one of those

Final post for this thread. Steering column is finally finished! I'm still missing the horn contact pin that went flying when I broke off the nipple on the last turn signal cam, but the cam itself has been replaced. The pin can be installed just by removing the steering wheel. New steering shaft and lower bearing in as well. It still hasn't been driven, as I need to get the wiring harness done next. But it looks great and already feels tighter and smoother. Thanks all for the help

Thanks for all the pics of your total rebuild. I have to tackle my column this weekend, while I have a full day, and the puller and pin tools, and before it come off in my hands. I probably won't take it back as far as you did since I am scared of messing with my shifter, but if I decide to or have to this will be helpful
