What’s a tilt column worth?

I have a guy who wants to trade a manual trans tilt column for my ‘HD 39’ thick case th400? Is money on top a fair ask?

My th400 is in good shape. Deep sump pan and torque converter are both brand new and cost close to $600...

Really depends on the year of the column. For instance an 84-91 tilt manual column is worth what someone will pay...I'd say that column is worth 3-500.00 depending on condition.

Do you mean to say that the 84-91 are a dime a dozen or that they’re more valuable than earlier years?

Our HD th400 is worth way more than that tilt. Mine is recently rebuilt and has a new convertor. I wouldn't sell it for less than $1000. I completely rebuilt an 85 non-tilt manual column that works great. I'd still take a tilt manual if I run across one but I wouldn't pay much for it. If I'm going that far, I'd just buy a new Ididit.

Sounds like he has a bunch of square parts, maybe worth a look. I don’t need much. The one thing I really wanted was a round pattern 205, but he doesn’t have one...

I just checked. Ididit doesn’t carry retrofit columns for 80s squares... unless I’m missing something.

Around here we can get complete columns with keys from $100-$150. These are the early style ,no multi switch turn signal stalks. I think your transmission is worth quite a bit more, I'd have to have some money on top of the column?.... and they are clean, no washing involved

I gave $85.00 for an 84 manual shift tilt column last summer. With intermittent wipers and cruise.

there is one on craigslist around here for $200 OBO, i would think a trans is worth more than that

This must be an early column. Can a wiper stalk be swapped onto this or no?
