Lockers are sooo expensive though. But anyways would i be better off with a spartan locker or a lock right locker? Also I dont really know much about axles but what kind of lockers do what and are there pros and cons of certain lockers than others or?

I ran a welded rear end on an oval dirt trac car with no problem but I would never weld one that would see any street use.

A few quick interwebs search will produce several articles on traction aids. In your case you should be well served by a lock right. Yes, lockers are expensive but if you weld that axle you will regret it in the long run and may cost more than a locker later on.

Powertraxx lockers aren't expensive, got one in mine and it works good..

I am considering a detroit locker after a bit of research. Are they really any better for the quality and price or? cause I found one for my axle at a hefty $550 but ill pay that price for the quality. People's reviews said that it was better than the spartan locker and lockrite but theyll all do the job.

Yes, the Detroit Locker is better only because it's stronger and will tolerate more abuse. The Detroit Locker is a complete carrier replacement. That means you have to take out your current carrier, swap the ring gear to the Detroit Locker and reset up your Ring and Pinion gears.
The lunchbox lockers like the Spartan and Lock Right and just spider gear replacement so you can keep your carrier installed and just replace the spiders with the lunchbox locker.

And setting up gears takes patience and skill or more $$ to have a good
