While removing the seat from our, @Catbox and my, truck yesterday night to install a carpeted or velour seat out of a later truck, we came across these odd seat brackets that had been riveted to the floor. They are in the way of the new seat due to the change in design on the sliders, so I had to weasel the old one back in. I'm wondering if y'all know anything about them and I if should try to save them, or beat em out with the air hammer and call it good. Any input is appreciated.

I would not like the idea of a seat frame that riveted to the floor. I’d drill them out and make new ones if needed and bolt them in.

It is about time you posted something in here dink bag.

But yeah, these look like somebodys pipe dream of installing bucket seats.
The rails are quite close and look janky.
I am going to vote we remove them and fill the holes.

Then in goes the newer seat....

Here are the photos that I took of the weirdness.

We have a stock seat that is from a later year truck that @Maxwellvis wants to put in while we work on getting the one that came in the truck reworked.

So the stock mounting will be reused.
These stupid things are just in the way of that...

Thats what I'm thinkin', it's just weird that the factory bucket brackets look nothing like this, nor do the brackets on the "factory" (I put it in quotes because its blue, so its been changed at some point) bench seat.
The seat going in is out of an 81+ truck due to the shape and seat belt holes, probably a crew cab or sub as it doesn't fold without removing 2 bolts from the seat brackets on the sides.

i dont have one that shows it but the old buckets had a bracket that bolts once in the rear and welded in front of the dip down in the floor

or maybe it was opposite

eh, either way there was definitely something more... not that lol!

Yeah, this is kinda what I was thinkin, basing it off of the Sub. buckets I have. Just odd that they are riveted in like factory, but no factory seat brackets seem to line up or make any form of sense with these ones.
