Warn brush guard

Does anyone have any pictures of a warn winch mount brush guard? I’m thinking about building or buying one for my truck, but I need more pics to help me decide. I found a couple online, but if anyone has more pictures or even some mounting instructions that would be great. Just looking for general information. Thanks.

Those look super dope, but also super simple. If you already have the tools scrap and winch, I'd say just eyeball it off the internet, use the winch to guide how you build it

I have the winch, I even have the center section from my warn classic bumper I would use. I’m just not sure how they mount, since they still use the stock bumper.

The center section pictured looks similar to their old modular winch bumper that came in sections. See photo. They sell a similar center section #11078 that you could use as your starting point. From what I recall, the sides of the mount just bolt through the 3 frame holes on the front horns. I don't remember if there is bracing on the inside of the frame.

I used to have one. Mine was actually for a Chevy Van with the wider bumper bolt spacing, but had brackets welded on to fit the '73-'80 pickup bumper. They are the same stamping, just the bumper bolt holes have different locations.

I think my only pictures of it were on photobucket. But @Don5 has it now, maybe he can share some pictures.

You can build your own version of the center section easily enough but the OE Warn piece is a stamped and folded unit. I have one in my garage that will be going back on the truck once I get it wrapped up but it was the moduler one so of course the end pieces are junk. I still have them to create some template parts from but I was thinking of taking the center section and then building a tubular setup that bolts to it with a 1/4 end cap and attach the tubular portion to it, so that way if i hit something and it bends any I can take it off and replace it. Also may change it to angular shape, like a pre runner or rock slider style bumper. just depends on what I can draw up and form vs function when I get to that point.


Here is a photo of mine before I took it apart. You can see the one side is still in pretty decent shape. I still need to do some measuring and figure out of it was just the angle of the photo or if something is bent in there. I think it was just the angle of the photo because I have it sitting on concrete and it seems flat and level, and the frame horns on my truck seem to be square and in the right spots.

I'm moving this weekend but some time after Saturday or Sunday I'll be putting it on a trailer so once I get it to the house and can break out the tape measure if you want I can take some better pictures and measurements.

I have one of their modular bumpers already, just not crazy about the look on an otherwise stock truck. I can build off of the center section from that, but I’m not sure how they attach the grill guard model to the truck. It wraps around the factory bumper I think, just not sure how they designed it.

It mounts exactly like the average brush gaurd. Right to the bumper bolts and the 'uprights' are contoured to fit the bumper.

That seems kind of flimsy for winching.

So it doesn’t wrap around behind the bumper and mount to the frame rails at all?

Did you contact bornforadventure on Instagram? he has some original paperwork from it that might have pics. Pretty sure he pulled it from that truck already, he could take pics for ya if ya asked.

It mounts to the frame rails via the bumper bolts. As was said, with grade 8 hardware, that's plenty stout enough.
