has anyone used these for our trucks.

They replace the springs with gas struts
Seems like it would be pretty sweet and better price point than the 800 summit billet versions

It goes on stock hinges? I like the idea.

I've been hit over the head by hoods and hatches with failing gas struts, way to many times. I like good old fashion springs.

They're pretty popular in my area and I see them on trucks regularly. I've asked about 5-6 truck owners that have them and they all seem to really like them. I've considered them for my son's truck build.

However, I see plenty of 50 year old hood hinges holding up hoods fine. I don't ever think I've seen a hood/trunk strut more than about 10 years that still functions as well as new.
