I’ll admit I like them on these trucks and the gmt400 style too. They look slick on lifted 4x4s

Haha, me too. Thought they looked stupid 30 years ago. But #2 son and me like it on the 86. No one else does and I’m conflicted. Part of me wants to ditch it, repair the roof and add clearance lights.
Part wants to repair it and refinish it along with the truck.
vs bone stock. I like both.

Bug deflector is gone. Window vent sticky on things will not be going back on and on the fence about the aftermarket grab handles.
Again used to think they looked dumb but now they seem Like cool “period correct” accessories!
I must be getting old, because I use to think only old men and Mexicans added that crap to their vehicles! Lol.

I always wondered if the visor added to the wind noise significantly…

The GMT400 have a visor that wraps around the cab lights so you can have both.... that would be slick for the Squares.

Lol, yeah probably...
I haven’t removed it yet or ever installed one, but wonder if there’s enough surface area that contacts the roof that I could repair all the holes and then re-install it semi-permanently with some good trim and molding tape?

i think the visor compliments your square very well, and if you added clearance lights TO it or found one integrated,it could look real nice

Caps and bolts are on Ebay for under $10 with free shipping. Supposed to be exact replacements, at least for full size Lund visors. Saw them several times before buying (just needed one bolt and cover) but they look like the originals as far as I can tell. Caps come black so you'll have to paint to match. Check reviews before purchasing since there are many listed at various prices.

Is the Racerback the thing that goes behind the cab up top....if so I want one baaad. Also want a visor to go with. I eventually want to replicate one of those 70s special edition desert runners that were limited production. the ones that had the fender and bumper flares that looked like they came off a g20 van.

Yes thats a razor back. And i think your thinking of the desert fox. Correction razor back bolted to the bed but came up to the roof kinda in a roll bar fashion.
