Vibration

85 Chevy short wheel base has slight vibration from 55 to 65 miles per hour, it doesn't seem to be in the steering wheel you can feel it through the seat. Any suggestions?

X2. My first guess would be rear tire out of balance. Check wheel weights but also look for mud in rim, rocks in tread. If its the truck in the pic, i doubt it sees much off road but you coulda picked up a rock or a nail in the tread, on the street. Also check for missing weights on the driveshaft. Happy hunting!

Go for a long drive with your GF at 60 MPH. I'll bet she can tell you where the vibration is coming from.

I had one on a C30 crew cab. When I bought it, it had this chirping sound coming from the torque converter. Being young and dumb back in the early 90's, I just tightened the bolts. Problem solved...

I then got a harmonic vibration at around 60+ MPH. Turns out the flex plate bolt holes had wallowed out and put the torque converter out of center just slightly.

If you choose to get rid of the vibration, here's what i do when chasing a vibration. First determine if it's engine speed related or vehicle speed related which in your case it probably is. When it's vehicle speed related i check if the vibration is still there when coasting or when in neutral at the vehicle speed the vibration normally occurs. If not it can be anything from the driveline from engine to diff or axles. If it is still present, it will probably be tire related (balance or out of roundness).
