I'm thinking about purchasing a used Edelbrock 1406 for my 84 k10. Some of you may remember me asking questions about rebuilding my quadrajet a few months ago. Well I did the rebuild, and while I think I did everything right, I'm still not having a lot of luck with my truck running right. When I stomp the gas the transmission kicks down and the rpms go up, but the truck floods out and will die if I don't let up on the gas. I'm done trying to figure this out.
So now I'm going to be purchasing a "like new" Edelbrock 1406 carb and use an adapter to put it on my stock intake. Since I'm buying this carb used I won't be getting all of the original hardware. What will I need to hook my transmission cable to it? I've heard horror stories about the transmission cable being wrong and it wrecking the transmission. I just spent $1200 getting my tranny rebuilt, so what do I do to keep it from hurting my transmission?
