Nightmare of bed wood fit is keeping the finish off the road.
Purchasing supplier kept telling me that we were installing it wrong.
There is only one way to lay the wood in the bed just to prep before drilling. Buy they continued to say it is us putting it in the bed wrong.!!!
Wound up having to have one extra board made of a different width. Hopefully it will cure the 2 inch gap problem.
Everyone has a different opinion but, not everyone has a solution.

What company is the wood bed kit from? I have Installed quite a few wood bed kits and never had a 2 inch gap.

Do your boards have this Gap? This is correct, If they are spaced to close, that would possibly be the reason for the 2” Gap ?
Your Truck is Stunning.

I bought another board 1 3/4 inches wider and everything fit perfectly.

Bought it in 1989 and was DD up until this retro. May not drive it on the road after factory pinstripping is completed.

Do you have a completed pic of the bed. Looking at you first pic how is bed secured to side as I don’t see the inner bed rail?
