If you have all or most of the original truck brackets etc... that bolts to the motor it should be a direct drop in. Start by cleaning everything up real good. Fix all of the obvious leaks on the 350 and gather up everything that you think that you will need, before you start. It will take longer than you think, so dont get frustrated.

Where in Kansas? If your close I'll just give you a hand. This is a crap shoot a 65 Impala wouldn't have a 350. That said IDK if you have a short waterpump 350 in it, or a long waterpump,how the brackets are setup etc. Any which way you slice it this is an easy swap. Does the truck have any engine now? If no your going to have to think about what to do about exhaust. P.S. I have every single part you could possibly need to make this happen. First we need to figure out what you have,what you need,and what we can make work.

abbyville, i put the 350 in about 10 years ago and took out the 283, and no the truck has an empty bay...wow, thats amazing man! i'm am interested in you helping me..

Looks like the 65 has headers,with any luck the exhaust off of the 65 can be made to work. Other option is buy exhaust manifolds for your year truck,your y pipe is still in place. Buy block side mounts for your truck bolt them to engine from the 65 . The engine is long waterpump, late brackets it will almost install itself.

Looked up Abbeville you are over 200 miles from me,Sooo I can't just pop over and help,sorry. But if you put the engine in the Impala,then you know how to swap motors and this one's easy.

I like a clean engine bay, Buy some oven cleaner, Zep purple power, or what ever you use to degrease and clean that engine bay and Paint it. This will really make a difference, and make you smile every time you show off the engine. Man, that looks like fun to me. Also, as you already know, your wiring is a mess, so check each wire for problems, then loom it up to protect it and make your space tidy.
