Under hood light

I have a 89 K5 blazer the under hood light not working I don't see a switch on the hood for a mercury switch wondering how it works

I would imagine it's in the lamp assembly, since you have to grab the lamp to bend it to turn it on and off.

switch is on the front of the lamp assembly that holds the reel in my 1990 suburban

Different assembly.
If the light is mounted to the center rear of the hood, it has a mercury switch built-in.

ok. figured his being an 89 and mine a 90, that they'd be the same. but pics always help! mine is mounted on the firewall towards the passenger side of center.

I was going to put on a pic but spaced it out I guess this light you grab it has a cord and when you pull it off the fire wall it comes on and you put it back it goes off Thanks again

switch is the lower passenger side corner. the little lever. that should turn it on and off.

There should be a secondary hood mounted light if it was optioned with that. It may not have been.
