How did you clean it so well?

Lots of power washing and some wire wheeling with various sized wheels and length stems.

Did a th350 this summer with Eastwood aluma blast. Wire cup on a drill to clean it all up first.

VHT and Duplicolor engine paints from any auto parts store. There will be a few silver options, IIRC I liked these three colors but cant remember which one I liked best.

One should be enough.. especially if you are doing silver. I tend to only do that if I'm rebuilding and even then I usually dont paint them. It just reduces the amount of heat transfer you are going to get. I usually use engine degreaser and a pressure washer to get the big stuff off before disassembly. Then wash the case in my hot parts washer(way easier to have a shop do this with a hot tank washer), and then wire wheel, degreaser, and spray again if it is really caked on. If you get it that clean, then just mask everything off and give it a few light coats to get it back to new transmission shiny silver again. No need to cake it on unless you are doing a show car, and even then I wouldn't be doing spray can. I'd take it somewhere and have it powdercoated if I wanted it to actually look good.

I don't know exactly. The Eastwood stuff is expensive. You can get cast blast fairly cheap and it would look fine.

well... you'll still need to get it clean in order to paint it, otherwise nothing is going to stick anyways.

I used oven cleaner worked very good to clean the grime off
