Transfer Case Skidplate

Was there a factory skidplate for the 73-87 4x4 trucks? I popped under my truck on the weekend and there is probably a 1/4" plate running the length under the transfer case to the tranmission.

Is this stock or someones hack job?

My truck came from the factory with two cross members that are connected by a skid plate.

I guess so this isn't mine but its the same thing .

I think it is an option but I am not sure.

I also have a skid plate below my gas tank as well.

My old '77 K5 had that same skid with double crossmember. Skids were optional all the years I think, but this particular setup seems to be related to the NP203. Other t-cases had a stamped skid mounted to just one crossmember.

Yeah I have the NP203 transfer case.

Yeah mine originally had a 203 but I changed to a 205.
