tranny mount/crossmember- urgent help needed

i asked because i wanted to know
was it the cost/ease of machining?

What was your reasons

"Mickey Mouse" was the reason ...

Here's the back story;
When I just installed the overdrive transmission and started to mount up the stock crossmember seen a need for a tall spacer cause I used the 4X4 4L80 adapter ... It was a few inches shorter than the THM 400 4X4 adapter ...

Ordered the aluminum block to fill the gap ...
After pondering on it for a few days ... I said " Oh Hell no !! "

And put on the Tom Terrific hat ... Needed a better mount in play than what I had in mind of making ...

That's when the aluminum block and the stock K15 crossmember got tossed to the side .. !!
(The aluminum block did get used for making up the crossmember drop down spacers)

Had to think up a better way of going about doing this job ??

BTW ...

Those blocks got two coats of POR 15 on em ..
Hoping they will outlast me ??

Might be a good idea to overkill nailing the drivetrain in the frame, especially if ya intend to Hot-Dog it ...

I like the aluminum blocks better than the stupid OEM spacers. FWIW, those blocks could be made out of plastic and still be overkill. The only stress on them is whatever compressive load is created by how much the bolt is tightened. As far as corrosion, have you seen Auroragirls truck? :mfr_omg:
