Found a guy locally selling a set of 5x5 Turbines in a 15" rim. Picking them up tomorrow, or Saturday. Anybody have a set of these on their rigs and have you done anything to them, polished/powdercoat etc?

Those and the five slot mags are my favorite rims. Nice find!

When I had mine years ago I used something similar to this. You wet the wheel, spray this on. It would foam up white and almost look like it was etching it clean, then rinse off. Not for coated or polished aluminum. Basically an aluminum brightener.

Thanks! Just slapped them in front of the stock rally for now to get an idea of what they'll look like and whoa

Appreciate the heads up on that cleaner/brightener. Not fully sure if I'm going og look and just cleaning them up, fully polished or powdercoated. Basically depends on how much pitting if any are on the rims. Initial scan of them looks really good though...

I get the spray bottles of "Aluminum Brightener" from Napa. The stuff works great... just be sure to use it in a well ventilated area and avoid skin contact. And for the love of all things that are holy, DO NOT get it in your eyes, lol.

Oh yeah, I can just imagine the colors you'd be seeing lol. I'm swinging into Napa tomorrow and grabbing some bottles of it. Seen some vids of it being used and looks like it's going to be my first swing at cleaning these wheels up. Want to try and keep the original finish and just clean off a lot of the oxidation from years of sitting. Going to say that they're definitely vintage 80's turbines. Haven't found any tag or names on the back so far. Did find the max wheel load rating and 15 x 7 lettering on the inside.
