Tire suggestions for lifted 86 suburban

Hey guys, need some help picking out tires for my truck. I’m running 35s right now but was going to swap out my leaf springs for a few extra inches of lift. I’m thinking I will be running about 8 to 10 inches of lift total.

As my truck sits now with what I estimate to be a 6 to 8 inch lift the 35s leave something to be desired with the size so just wondering if anyone has a cost-effective option for bumping up in size.

I love the look of the 40 inch tires but it seems like there’s a big price jump going from 37 inch to 40 inch so if anyone has any suggestions that won’t break the bank I’d really appreciate it. Ideally drive this truck so I don’t want to be replacing tires so often and need some thing that performs daily Highway use and that won’t get stuck on oil rig trails in the mud.

I’m not sure on my rim size but I think it’s a 15 inch rim and I was planning on keeping those for now and maybe doing some slot drilled chrome wheels in the same size later

Tires for 15" wheels are becoming harder and harder find. Interco has a blem list of discounted tires but you have to purchase what's available, when available. If you can find a tire shop that wont charge an arm and a leg you can buy tires cheaper on ebay or amazon than your tire shops. I bought a set of 33x12.50x15 mud tires off amazon for like $700 and when calling around to get them mounted (on brand new wheels I also bought online) some places wouldn't touch them because I didn't purchase from them and a mom and pop place wanted $400 to mount/balance.

@warrpath4x4 WOW, I been getting $20 mounted and balanced!!! But, you have to help and ya gotta take your old tires with you......disposal fees will kill you!! My Bride has always said I work too cheap!....Oh and I work for beer, too!

There's been a few times in recent years that I took bare rims and new tires to some local type shops to get them mounted and balanced. I've dropped them off, told them no rush, just give me a call when they are done. It's been well under 100 bucks each time, and done within a few hours.

ya it used to be like $12.50 a tire around here but not anymore. I took the 33's to wal-mart and they told me their machine cant handle tires that big which I know is BS. The mom and pop shop started quoting me $80 until they asked what size and when i said 33's they go, " oh its a truck tire? $400"

Lol, they don't realize that 33" diameter is a normal size to deal with on the modern trucks they mess with everyday.

Around here it's pretty much $25/tire for mount and balance across the board. But there's lot of shops, anything from Discount Tire/name brands all the way to cash under the table shady places. And disposal is usually $6-8/tire. Size doesn't really matter until you get up to 40+.

Yes you’re not charging enough. But depends on tire size and rim size.
Still $25-50 per tire here at indy shops. Most chain stores won’t mount tires you don’t buy from them. Understandable since they are busy and in the business of selling tires to people who like to pay too much for tires.
@warrpath4x4, $100 a tire is a total ripoff in Crakima! Find a llanta shop if you can’t do better than that.

You want 37-40” tires on 15” rims? Why?
Fwiw the only options that don’t “break the bank” now that internet pricing has completely leveled the competition is A. Used. B. China bomb tires. C. Shop for a deal.
But there aren’t many out there. Although I did just find a set of 37-12.50-20 Mickey T AT tires from Jeep and Truck Parts for only $445/ea free shipping and they didn’t charge WA sales tax. Easily $3-400 cheaper than any other decent combo for that size. Check them out.

Totally different here. In the last 6 weeks got a set of 14” trailer tires M&B, $25/tire. 37s on brodozer wheels, $50/ea.
which sounds like a good deal to me based on the cost of everything here vs the much lower cost of living where you live.
Considering also I’ve been paying $25/tire on avg giver take for probably 20 years or so.
