That sounds like so much work. Why not just cover in leather and do a nice french seam across the top?

diamond tuck is easy. it's all straight lines. you just chalk of your angle and spacing and run straight shots in both directions.

What would be sexy would be to run a french seam across the front edge of the dash around the instrument bezel while covering the dash pad is soft leather.

Well, I was kinda kidding about the diamond tuck. Lol. Having a seam like that going around the whole cluster would look pretty cool though. You're talking like having that on each side of the cluster, with the single going across to join the two? You can do that stuff?

Yes. and Yes.

It would be super attractive (in a show truck). Not exactly the look I am going for in my project for my boy. Maybe if I was building a 2wd, LS powered street truck.

But we did talk about how clean it would look to do a marine vinyl cover with a double french seam like pictured above around the instrument cluster and down each side of the dash pad ends The have a single french seam around the dash trim for the A/C vents as well as a single french seam around some round speaker grills up top on the ends

Of course I chose rugged and washable for the K10 and have now decided to cab swap and use the dash pad in the new cab.

Maybe I will change my mind for a 53rd time. Who knows. Some times I feel like a woman. (not really)

I think everyone goes through the "this" or "that" when deciding what to do on their trucks. We all know what we would do if we had the money. LOL

Once I get this K10 in daily driving condition for my son's first truck, I may take the short wheel base chassis in my driveway and over-build it with a LS9 and leathered out interior.

But for now....I'm just going to focus on making an extremely reliable daily for my boy.

I will take tons of photos when I start to put the interior together. Now that I have the door panels finished up, I'm going to finish the interior door latches and start wiring the door actuators and keyless entry.

If I can get two days of good weather and help from my brother, we will get the new cab onto the truck and start buttoning it up.

Lol. And even then, a bunch of would still change our minds.... The pics everyone post are awesome. It's so cool to get a different view on how to do stuff. I'd like to see more of your interior work. Really, there's not too much of that here. Sure, panels, headliners, and such. Not sewing stuff up though....
