Prolly got one in the bottom of your oil pan and don't even know it.
Junior.

Look here . When all the water boils out of the pot if you can sift through the speculation , guesses, and hail Mary voodoo , replacing the shaft coupler sleeve is THE cheapest way to fix it - if that's your problem.

Five bucks and a 9/16 with a #2 Phillips.
Replace that dealy and see if it still makes the noise..might fix it first shot. :waytogo:

You would laugh at what i eventually found out when i pulled the motor. It was a butterfly valve on the exhaust manifold that was just a flappin

Thanks for the help from everyone. I figured out that it was not a knock or a tick but a butterfly valve on the exhaust manifold that was flapping

That's a new one! Pretty tough to diagnose engine noises over the internet though the information I provided is valid. Maybe it can help somebody else...
Still cheaper than a butterfly valve mmhmm. Thanks for the update.

A stethoscope usually ends up being a cheap investment, relatively speaking.

Maybe I have heard of that .
Yep I don't think it was very long ago either. Somebody had a very similar problem IN this MSB pretty sure now I'm thinkin about it.
Might make a good place to  start looking in the future - matter of fact since yours is #2 in recent history.

Any reader recall that? Was it you?
Sound off!
