I spoke at length with LMC and ordered all new supports ext. to put the wood bed on. Looks like everything is there.

But, as I cruise the salvage yards in Texas, I will check and if they do have a wood bed, I'll snag the supports just in case.

Here's a good thread about restoring a '73-'87 fleetside wood floor:

Unfortunately, most of Ray's pictures are gone. But the info is all there about what he used to make it all work and look correct. All the cross sills, even the rear sill is specific to the '73+. Iirc, Ray bought undrilled and unwelded cross sills for an older truck so he could place the mounting locations correctly. The side mounting flanges, including around the wheel tubs, is also specific to the '73+.

Thanks for that info. I have an old friend that is an excellent "fabricator". As well, I'll check salvage yards. Even if I can get old rusted ones, we can 're make' them.
We'll get 'er done. Somehow.

I think this will work............Once I get into it deeper. There may have to be some modifications ,but with fabrications I think it can be done with an LMC bed kit.
I'm talking about the supports etc. I think the big secret is to go slow. Square everything up. Whatya think bucket?

Luckily the truck was NEVER bent. If it was, I couldn't do it.

That's a funky looking long throttle cable!
