Got the same problem with mine. 800cfm Edelbrock. No kickdown. 4 speed.
Be nice to get the factory one, but I think I'll have to engineer one and jury rig it.

I really don't feel like spending a deuce on some Billet setup. It's JUST a cable !

So show us your setup here. YOu have an ASV2? And is your bracket from a 4 barrel or a 2 barrel truck? I reused my 2 barrel, and its putting the throttle cable in a weird bend. I have a 4 barrel one so i will eventually put a different. Since you have a 4 speed do you have a 700r4? You NEED a tv cable properly installed or you will quickly ruin your transmission. A 200r4 also uses a TV cable. Electronic 4 speeds wont. A th350 3 speed uses a kick down. a th400 uses a kickdown switch. My 2 barrel bracket has the spot for a th350 kickdown. You can get some decent cheap brackets from edelbrock for the throttle cable

Yes, an AVS2, with Sm-465 (4 speed manual) tranny so no kickdown worries. Yeah I'm gonna scout around in Texas while I'm there and see if I can find a factory one on a wreck in good shape.
THANKS !

Got one more problem solved. Exhaust.

Still wrenching on mine. I thought I'd share with you my custom exhaust system on my K20 that I've FINALLY decided on. "I've been ciphering" LOL I'm running full 304 stainless steel full length headers 3" all the way from collectors, with an "H" type crossover for a lower growl ("X" type just are not low enough growl) as close to the front as possible, with Borla Pro XS mufflers as far back as possible (just ahead of the axle somewhere), exiting over top the axle, THROUGH the back bumper with black tips on black bumper. I can hardly wait until I can hear it. Should sound pretty damn good behind that (PS4272CTC1) 427 SBC. That 427 has a wicked lumpy cam in it. Man, your truck sure sounds incredibly good! WILD, but real GOOD. I test fit my NEW black exhaust tips on my old bumper and they will fit just fine. I "test" cut a couple of rectangular holes in the OLD bumper to make sure it would all fit. It was just like the bumper was MADE for 'em to fit. Got lucky. Weld em' in from the backside, and you won't see them unless you look closely. BLACK rectangular TIPS ON NEW BLACK rear bumper. Nothing but rumble on this baby. Koda (the dog) approved and inspected all. HA! You will see the tips in winter though..........icy exhaust smoke here in Antarctica. Whatcha think of "my cipherin" That's Jethro.........thinkin' LMAO

This is where we're at right now. Time to get out the impact and tear the rest of the rusted crap off. Then all new cab supports, and cab work. Floors, rockers inner and outer and then its time to head back to Texas for a while and get some sun.

That exhaust is only 2-1/2". Going to 3" stainless. Details on that above.

2500 miles south. with cat. with dog, and with co-pilot wife.
We'll be taking our time on this trip. Pick up some more 'go fast' parts, have a vacation and in spring go full on restoration on the 1975. Like to get her completely done before next winter. I think I can do it. Work every day. Right parts. Right tools. Easy Peasy. NOT

Same issue this is the third cable on my burb, first two were before i owned it New cable seemed an bit long but it was the same ad the one that broke at the peddle connection? Started sticking almost immediately, Sprayed Motorcycle cable lube little help just getting worse, greased the bottom of the cable some help but not great??
It has been suggested to get a OEM AC Delco cable and problem solved!Cannot find such cable any help would be appreciated Thanks

I got mine to stop sticking (also seems too long) by removing the plastic part on the movable end - that is what was binding because of the weird angle. Probably will wear out the entry to the actual sheath faster, but I was having problems with it sticking and requiring excessive foot pressure initially, and then when it would release it was basically like flooring the thing and it was then slow to return even with extra return springs.

I still have the extra return springs on there because I am terrified of it sticking open, but it works much smoother and easier with the plastic guide at the throttle end removed (or at least unattached and slid all the way down to the sheathing).

Wood floor? All the floor crossmembers and surround flanges are specific to the wood floor and are not reproduced.
