Would I be better off going ahead and getting a engine and trans that's already pulled? I found one with 131k supposedly out of a 06 Silverado. Or should I go with the 03 and pull it my self? The 03 the guy told me he thought it had 180k but the odometer was reading 248k

Its not hard to pull. The 06 will probobly by drive by wire, if that matters to you. On the mileage issue 131k sounds much better than 248k. The ls engines are pretty robust though. The advantage to pulling it youself is you can get all the bits and pieces you want from the donar.

The 03 is drive by wire as well but can't I change the intakes to adapt to the 02 and back cable drive? The 06 was involved in a wreck but it's already pulled out and everything they want 900 for it

Oh ok I thought in 03 they went to DBW maybe not but that's not to big of a deal I don't guess
