Just got an email from the company that makes those wheels. Here is what they said:

"Thanks for asking, but our 8 lug wheels do not work on a 85'. Our cut off year in 75', they will hit the caliper on anything new."

Guess I need to start trolling the swap meets and junk yards on a regular basis. If anyone comes across 5 8-lug stock wheels in the Tenn, Kentucky, Indiana, North Alabama areas let me know.

I'll keep my eyes pealed for you man. Those steel wheels will really look nice for the 'theme' you're going for I think

215/85/16 and 235/85/16 were the 2 factory options for tires, the RPO label on your glove box should say which your truck came with. I am looking to go with stock gray ralley`s, or, silver cragar D window wheels with the ralley caps and rings.
Personally, if I am looking at a used vehicle...stock is a big turn on. If I even see a modified exhaust, I start to get suspicious. Always looking for the truck that an old man has kept in the garage I guess.

Agreed. I am the second owner of this 152k mile truck. Saw it sitting out front of a farm with a for sale sign while out driving the Baja Bug on some back roads. Stopped, talked to the gent, made an offer and came back and drove it home. Transaction took all of 1 hour. He even had the original carbon copy hand-written order form.

Mine came with the 235/85/16 option.

What kills me now is that he just put on the new wheels and tires so he could sell it faster. Gave the stock ones to a buddy. Got to admit that at the time the new wheels and tires got my attention. Had to buff it out to get it to shine like it does now. Also had to replace evey belt and hose but I was happy with the deal. Still has the original motor and does not burn any oil. Drips some but that is kind of expected with a 25 year old truck.

i'm planning on doing sort of the same thing with my '77, but the drivetrain will be built a little more driver friendly than a TH350/NP203 3/4 ton.

You should start a thread on it, greasedog! :) I'm not sure we have ever seen your '77. Is that the one with sentimental attachment?

Sorry, I miss understood. If you are keeping it for yourself, do what you want too it. Like Old77 outside looks pretty well stock while his moods are in the inside. Crazy's is all about the Hard Core Wheeling. Me I have three, my DD is just nice, it has been slightly modified, Motor looks nice, interior looks nice, and body looks nice nothing that jumps out at you. My 77 Jimmy has a 6" lift with 36" tires and a 383 stroker, th400. My 82 2wd Blazer is my money pit with heavy body mods, Big Block, the whole nine when I'm done. Would I ever get my money back out of any of these trucks probably not, but I have more fun building them. That's what I love about working on cars and trucks, you can put your own personalization on them, and have the pride of doing it. Good luck with your project, and POST PICS, as I'm sure you have noticed we love the Pics.:D

Greasedog don't come here that often. I have seen him on another site, that I don't go too anymore, because they are a bunch of self loving Ass's that know everything. I've seen a couple threads that greasedog gave some good facts, and his opinion and they jumped his ****, and told him he didn't know what he was talking about. The few things I have seen him speak about, seems like he knows what he is talking about. That's just my opinion.
