With the right center cap those would look really nice :waytogo: I'll try and track down a pic but I've seen a stock K5 with similar rims that looked good as well. I'll post it up if I can find it. Give me a few :waytogo:

Very very nice. Exactly what I was thinking. Now on to finding some Center Caps. The stock tires were LT235/85R16P - 8 ply on the front 10 ply on the rear. Would these be correct for 7" rims?

You might check out www.lmctruck.com or www.classicparts.com for centers. They might have something that works  About the tire size working on 7" I'm not sure. I'm not well versed on what works with what.

If you just want to run a stock tire, stock steel wheels are all over the place and for not much money. I have got several of them for free in recent years.

BTW, the truck looks really good right now:)

I have been looking for stock 8 lug wheels and they seem rare out here. Every 3/4 or 1 ton I have seen in the junk yards has replacement wheels. If you have or know of a stash of them let me know and I will take 5 off of your hands.

Those 235's will sit on 7-inchers perfectly. I've seen a several squares around here running 255's on them too. Kinda wish I'd gone 255's after seeing it.

OH MY GOD......Y'all are killing me. D-Bob your truck looks great as it sits, if Tenn. is anything like Tex. you will get more money for a slightly modified truck than you will for a stock truck. The money you will have to spend to make it stock again is going to be more than you will make as it sits now.

If it was me I would put some money into a lift and Bigger tires. I'm not talking about a huge lift, 6" with some 38's. You will guaranteed get more money.

If you want it Stock for yourself, I say go for it, if that is your cup of tea. I'm a firm believer in STOCK SUCKS, lift it ---- lower it----just don't leave it stock.

That is my two cents.

Don't get me wrong, clean, I love modded and don't keep much of anything stock but he asked what was worth more. In my area a stock and unmolested, restored truck like his would be worth more than most modded :) but in the end I'd do to it what you like best and just drive it :) I don't plan on ever selling mine so resale value means nothing in my case :)

Who's Blazer is this? Because I would trade you and HRPC for that fine ride. We all know I wouldn't get much for HRPC old ass, but every little bit helps.

I would be doing this for myself not for resale value. I was curious if it would hurt the value if I decided to put it back to stock.

The more I thought about it last night I am leaning towards a resto-mod style. Something that looks like the factory "could" have produced it. No disrespect to anyone but I just don't like lifted trucks. Lifted Jeeps, Scouts, Blazers and dare I say it, Broncos makes sense to me but this truck will never be a hard core off-roader. Keeping the tires close to stock will give me better performance and economy. I am only getting 10-11 mpg now.

I have dropped the idea of putting the motor back to stock. I need more power and the engine bay is just plain ugly. Unfortunately in Nashville, unlike the rest of Tennessee, we have emission checks on 74 and newer cars/trucks. Mine only needs a tailpipe test so I can pull the smog stuff, tune it, and still pass. In fact mine is already disconnected an passed easily.

Get after it man! :rocking: Sounds like you've got a solid idea in your head of what you want to do so I say go for it :) What you've put out there will definitely not hurt the value of the truck :High 5:

No disrespect take, I love my big truck for its purpose, hardcore offroading. But I would love to have my dad's stock 79 K10 to haul loads/pull the trailer with. Essentially it's mine anytime I want to drive all the way up to his place and get it but I would rather have it here lol. My truck in no way could function as a daily driver, and it makes me kind of nuts to see people daily driving a Truck on 36"+ tires, IFS, stock gears, etc where it was only done for looks, resulting in hurt fuel efficiency/power and early wearing parts (i.e. "Trailer Queen", "Street Princess", "Mall Crawler"). In my opinion I don't see how it could hurt resale value at all setting it back where it was from the factory. As long as it's done tastefully, new-looking interior and a few simple, tasteful mods (meaning, don't buy all the stick-on, bolt-on, dress-up auto parts store garb most youngsters deck their trucks out with), performance mods but nothing too extreme, it would really enhance its value.
