1978 GMC K15, 350 crate engine, no mods all stock. What is the best thermostat for my daily driver?

195 is the best overall. Engines run more efficiently and last longer when they get up to temperature in the 195-200 degree range. Using a lower temp thermostat will not cure overheating or other cooling system issues.

Do not buy any value brand stat. Either it won't work out of the box, or you'll be changing it within a year.

Several year ago I started using the Stewart high flow 195 degree thermostat, and they have worked really well. However, it’s hard to believe how much the price has gone up the last few years.
