ok see the nominal wattage they are rated at? go any higher than that for any extended period of time and be prepared for disaster. if you havent bought amps yet id seriously buy some lower wattage ones and save some money, if not just be sure the amp gain is turned way down. just tryin to help here. also the lower wattage will decrease the need for huge gauge wires and electrical upgrades

For Amps or not, I'd still do the Big 3 upgrade. I see nothing but Win doing the upgrade. Everything should function better.

So I got around to doing this today and here is my story:

A few things about this pic: notice the neg batt to chassis ground is 12G wire and goes to the core support THEN to the frame, wtf? The pos batt to alt has a wire connector about 4" off the terminal? Pos batt to starter is black, changed it to red since aly wire is red too. Yes, the poss batt to amp wire is suspect and I will address that later.

Another view of before without all the MSpaint...

The battery terminals were good, just needed to be cleaned...

Neg batt to Engine block was good so I left it alone. Neg batt to chassis

Connection at alt before and after....

I wish I would've snapped a before pic here, but its almost a full 2A increase when at idle. Turned on high beams/aux lights/AC/cranked the stereo needle barely moved.

With shipping total cost was $45. Not a bad deal if you ask me. I still intend to drop in a 140A alt, after I get these on.....

Awesome. Big difference in the wiring too. Looks much better and safer.

Great job Jerry. I think you should copy that post and put up a write up for it in the tech write up forum. :)
