pump part that the 2 rings go on will not go down inside the cavity on the back of the forward drum. was hard to get out when tearing down pump cover no. is 8626696

Do you have a question?

And that pump part that the two [sealing] rings go on is called the stator.

ETA - take the sealing rings off and see if it will go. If it's still getting stuck, yank the new bushings back out, install the rear bushing back in and try again. If it slides on, reinstall the front bushing and try again. If it's hanging up, clearance the bushing with 400-800 grit sand paper until it slides over the journal and seats.

If it wont slide on and fully seat with no sealing rings or bushings, you need to determine if the stator or fwd drum is the problem.
