I'm just about to get my car on the road since being in the garage for the past 7-8 years.
Filled the trans with 4qt of oil and tried to put it in gear but nothing happened :D .

Is the "device" on the first pic for some kind of speed limiter? (It's connected to the trans atleast)
I'm a total newbie on transmissions and i recall i had some vaccum hose connected from the "device"
to the intake manifold and one to some other place :p .

Should i just try to add more oil or how should i proceed?

That's for the cruise control. It will not affect transmission operation.

The 200r4 takes ~11 quarts of oil when the transmission is and converter empty. Start with 8 quarts and add till you reach the right amount.

Just saw your comment ali_c20 and i just came back from the garage. I added to around 6-7 quarts but still not getting into gear.
I'll try to add more and hope for the best. Just so frustrating when i've build the whole 383 stroker engine myself and i have zero clue
when it comes to transmissions :D

I guess it's not original idahovette since i imported this car 10 years ago from the States to Sweden.

I read online that the th350 was supposed to be filled to 6quarts but i guess it's different on the th200r4.

Yes, a 200-4R has a longer pan and a deeper pan than Th350. Not that it matters much unless you want to be politically correct since everyone will know what you're talking about anyway, But unlike the 700-R4, the 200 is 4R for some odd reason. I never understood why but yeah, it's 700-R4 and 200-4R.
