Here ya go...They were painted all black, and they were just your basic low HP 350.......I also think that they were made in Mexico, according to the info I've came across..........

Low HP? This is going in a 3/4 ton from a half ton. Both used the 350TBI.

3/4 ton does not equal high HP motor.... so most likely it was a low HP motor considering when the motor probably came out.

being a TBI truck, if its got centerbolt valve covers (like it did from the factory), its not a targetmaster. the targetmaster is still sold by GMPP, its just their lowest performance engine in the lineup.

I'll have to check the valve covers. I'm being told it one of those target crate chinese made engines.

Yes, they are Heche En Mexico just like the other Goodwrench motors. I do beleive they are actually called Target Master aren't they? They have been around for a long time. I know a guy who put one in his business company truck that was an 84 Cab & Chassis flatbed dually. There were hard on their motors, carried alot of weight and I know when the truck got hit by a dumb bitch and totalted it by bending the front frame, they took that Target motor out of it with 60K miles on it and put it into a 85 Long Bed pickup and I couldn't tell you how long it lasted but it was a good motor and they were happy with it. Their 84 C&C got replaced with a 90 C&C 454 TBI I want to say.

Si Si senior hencho in mexico.Gm target motors CAUTION back in the 80s -90s the asembly quality was really poor.Ive seen them missing internal parts like complete piston-rod asemblys,bearing shells,loose main bolts ect.GM let us pull the pans and inspect and retorque rods and mains.Then they started spanking the asemblers and quality got better. Should not be an issue with current motors,but I would not install one with out checking first.

On a side note,they were all thin wall castings.The vortec heads cast in Mexico are generally to thin to port.Circle track builders wont use them.

Well this one was put in 7 years ago. Nothing back that as 80's and 90's. But the truck sat for 5 years cause bum 700r4 trany.
