Yes you can do that, its exactly what I did. Every thing brand new from rock auto was like $204 but I have a single tank so it would be double for you to do both.
@bluex You say you used an 87 R10 tank? Looking at rockauto, it says it's not baffled but people have said they are in fact balled for efi. Is this just a typo on their website?

I know I'm not @bluex but below is what I picked up which I'm 99% sure are baffled and should be for EFI.

2 - SPECTRA PREMIUM GM11C {#471681} (Tanks w/ Lock Rings) - $76.69 ea.

The 87 tanks are for sure baffled. They’re what I used.

That's good. The spectra website specs the GM1c as having baffles so I'm good there.

Rock auto no longer has the sending units but autozone can order them. It also seems the eo381 pumps are replaced with delphi feo214?

The 87 tanks are for sure baffled. They’re what I used.

Thanks. What about a regulator? Mine is currently in the remote sump so I'm going to need something?

If you don’t have it already. There’s a 47psi regulator made for the pro flo that hangs off the return side fuel rail. I’m assuming you’re running a 47psi map. If you’re much over 400hp, you’ll want the 58psi one.

The part #s ending in C should have the efi sump/baffle

What are you using for a switching valve (U7001?). And the switch? I see they sell a toggle switch for that application. That seems like it would work better than the OEM rocker?

I order to control both pumps in the tank you have to use 87 model parts there as well. The older valves were not built with the current draw of a pump in mind. This requires changing the wiring an switch to 87 spec as well.

For anyone going down this path below is what I did with help from member Bleux and others for my 1977 K10. Prices below are as of today from RockAuto.

2 - ACDELCO EP381 {#25163473} (Pumps) - $57.79 ea.
2 - SPECTRA PREMIUM GM11C {#471681} (Tanks w/ Lock Rings) - $76.69 ea.
1 - SPECTRA PREMIUM FG05N {#25090837} (Passenger Side Sending Unit) - $73.79
1 - SPECTRA PREMIUM FG05M {#19179694, 25090846} (Drivers Side Sending Unit) - $66.99
1 - ACDELCO U7001 {#12336291} (Fuel Selector Valve) - $77.79
1 - STANDARD MOTOR PRODUCTS DS1807 {#15599081, 19244972, D7089C} (Tank Selector Switch) - $9.37
2 - Filler hoses to fit 1987 tanks - Can't find the part number

Notes:
  • Had to make a slight modification to reduce the 87 filler hose to the 77 filler neck
  • Used the sniper pump power lead to power the switch so my selected pump only runs until prime is finished before I start it up
  • Had to make modifications to the back of the selector switch to fit in the dash and be flush
  • Shouldn't have purchased the full Sniper kit as I'm no longer using the inline pump
  • Looks completely stock

I'm going to use the Atomic EFI as it is California approved on my 1981 Suburban...I too got the complete kit and am seeing that their fuel pump setup supplied is asking for failure...is it simply as easy as switching out the tank, sending unit and fuel pump from an '87?

The truck sat for a while so I'm most likely going to need to change out the fuel tank anyways!

You can't use the 87 pump, they don't put out enough pressure for the aftermarket efi. Use one from a 96 on the 87 sending unit to get the proper pressure, as long as it's a fairly stock engine.
