I am trying to replace the factory tach itself (or maybe just do the wiring behind the way it seems) I am getting the tach signal from the connector but not getting any power. I rigged up a small battery to test it and it bounces a bit. What do I do to get it working?

Where are you getting power from? I looked at my wiring schematics, and located the terminal on the fuse block under the dash that the tach would have been connected to, if my truck had a tach from the factory. I used this to power my Sunpro, and also hooked to the ground that was located near by.

If you feel you have it hooked up properly, there is probably something wrong with the circuit board on the tach itself.
