I had a limb fall from a tree and spider web the rear quarter glass on the passenger side rear door. The GM manual shows the quarter glass and the channel run are a complete unit. But I see just the glass with gaskets/trim for sale without the channel run. could I take the channel run off my current, broken window and attach it to this new piece of glass? how does the channel run attach?

The glass and rubber just fits snuggly into the run channel. Swapping replacement glass to your run channel is no problem at all.
