Well, at least we're all still buds. :waytogo: Let's keep it that way. Opinions are like ********.... we all have one. But that doesn't mean we have to be one. So let's not.

And it also depends on the type of powertrain as to if it will work or not. I've already said, most of us here don't have a 2500-3000 stall, so that method is out.
IMO, that method is just timing the motor at Full Advance and working backwards, rather than setting initial timing at idle and going forward.

Nonetheless whatever works for some and if they think it's working for them and they're happy with it, then rock on with it. No need in getting your wives panties in wads. That's bound to hurt when you get your junk all twisted up in the ***.

Boy am I glad I had my boots on, it was getting deep in here for a minute.

And that would end up being your loss Dawg. I've be yanking wires and hoses like a muhhh fugger and yo **** wouldn't be running at all.

Lol, you wouldn't believe the mental images you two just put into my head

As for the whole timing thing, I doubt I could get anyone I know to climb under the hood when I'm behind the wheel. I can't even get people to look for noises in the trunk anymore, lol.

I know what you mean. Women are kinda like dogs that way. You only get by with that one time, and then they remember and won't go back in again.

You know how it is, Dogs love you unconditionally, wives don't. And if you don't believe it, lock your dog and your wife in the trunk for a bit and see which one is happy to see you when you let them out.

Ok so quick question hotrod why would you think a truck with 1800 rpm stall wouldn't hit 2000+ rpm with break fully compressed to time it

What do you think would happen
Is it cause the wheels would spin

You might squeeze 2000, but you're not getting to 2500-3000 with a stock converter. Either wheel spin or motor bog. And can you imagine the heat on the trans while doing this.

Why would your motor bog and tranny heat ?
Explain please
Cause if your truck is a 1800 stall then thats the rpm you would want to bring your rpm up to to time it right to the point the wheels want to break

For real? You don't know that stalling the motor like that heats up your transmission? Even just having a 2500-3000 stall converter slips enough to generate heat even if your not on the brake and just doing normal driving. Bottom line it's friction, whether it be hydraulic or not.

The torque converter is only designed to slip so much until something is going to give. Either the tires are goign to spin or the motor is going to bog.

What friction its fluid transfer from the pump to the torque converter your wheels would be spinning before any real load on the tranny
And I still didn't get any real explanation on motor bog
