I like plug and play, not plug and pray. I'd go with @gmachinz

He's about the only plug in solution.
Mike echoes my experience with AAW and Painless. The "universal" harenesses are anything but painless. If you don't have significant experience don't expect to put one of these in and have it any better than the original no matter how chopped up the original harness is.

Troubleshoot...It just seems like a few lighting issues. Get the lights working. Clean up the mess under the dash. The drain may be associated with your lighting issues and in fixing the lighting may clear itself up.
Youtube has videos on tracking down parasitic drains.
Everyone above has good options for you on this.
